It's been over 16 months since I received a silent shout-out from an anonymous brony (see "Note From The Underground"). I haven't thought much about it since then, though I did appreciate it.
Last week, as I was walking toward my car after work, I saw a couple of people gathered around it. I figured they were checking out my BRONY license plate. I didn't try to get their attention as they got into their car and left.
I didn't even notice it until I got in. Under my windshield wiper was a My Little Pony mechanical pencil set.
The element of generosity strikes again.
I needed to see something like this because I've been struggling with someone who's been abusing my own generosity. I've been trying not to let it sour me. This gift really helped.
Thank you, whoever you are.

For those of you who follow the furry fandom, one of the staples of reading is/should be the Australian e-strip "Doc Rat" by the eponymous Jenner.
Anyway, Jenner has weighed in on "Zootopia" and one of the core themes of the picture. This is no screed; it's a very meaningful discourse and needful now that we seem to be facing the near-extinction of sanity amongst the allegedly intelligent species.

OK, that didn't work out as planned. I'm not sure if the problem is that I posted a link to a MS Word document (I'd always posted .txt fanfics and reviews) or what. So I'll try some alternate strategies. My bad.

Back At It Again
It's been something like 10 years since I last posted a Sonic fanfic. It's been a long dry stretch since then. For a variety of reasons, I felt that I really didn't have anything to say.
But something finally reawakened the desire within me to tell a story. That something was "Zootopia."
It's an amazing technical achievement anchored by the perfect cast: Judy Hopps the rabbit and idealistic new police officer, and Nick Wilde, the worldly-wise fox and street hustler. I believed in them right away and felt within the urge to tell a story of Zootopia myself. So I did.
This isn't a Sonic crossover; I don't see how that would work. But as a Zoo
Frisk: Stop, drop and roll 2.0
After posting the first drawing I assessed the results and decided, to quote a line from "Blazing Saddles," that "evewything bewow der vaist is kaput!" So I tried again, jackknifing the knees and bringing them closer to the elbows.
I'm still not totally satisfied with the results; the defects can be chalked up not to the 8-bit character model but to the 2-bit talent of the artist. But there is it.

Hearing things like this help to lift my own spirits and restore some faith in humanity. I know what it's like to have one's generosity taken advantage of. Know there are people out here who will support you and help you.
